New Band To Watch: Neon Trees

The American pop/rock band Neon Trees are set to release their debut album, Habits, on March 16th. Hailing from Provo, Utah, the quartet features singer/keyboardist Tyler Glenn, Elaine Bradley on drums/vocals, guitarist Chris Allen, and bass player Branden Campbell. I’ve only heard two songs from the band so far, first single Animal, and Calling My Name, but let me tell you – I’m hooked! The best description I can come up with is a marriage between The Killers and Keane, with an extra Marshall amp or two thrown in to stir things up.

If the rest of the album is anything like these first two cuts, we’re in for a real treat. The band is touring the US in the spring supporting 30 Seconds To Mars. Let’s just hope they make it over to this side of the pond soon as well.

Below are two remixes of the song Animal provided by Mercury Records. Be sure to check them out, as well as the band’s MySpace page to hear Calling My Name.

Kickass. Liked “Animal” and I really, REALLY liked “Calling my Name.” I could listen to it over and over again. I’m looking forward to hearing more.

I’m really impressed with your reviews and am even more surprised that I agree with most of them… one band to consider for “New Band to Watch” is the weber brothers… I’m so in love with “I remember everything” and “Some People”… would love to hear what you think!

  3. Hi, Daniel!

Nice blog! I’m from Bergen Norway, but I play with a really cool rock band from Boston, MA, US, and I would love to send you a One-Sheet and some songs if you’d like to check it out. we’re opening for Bon Jovi at Gillette Stadium in Boston, and we’ve won a few awards here and there – L.A. Music Awards’ Best Male Rock Vocalist. Let me know, dude. Have a beautiful day!

It’s a shame you don’t post anymore! You should get back at it.
